Well, I am back! I bought a Wacom graphire 4 drawing tablet. Another great idea of mine! I figured I could buy a graphics tablet and create my own artwork! But unfortunately it's a little harder to use than I anticipated.
What is it that inspires us to tackle the obstacles we face living with a spinal cord injury? Is it a person such as a child, a parent, maybe another person with a spinal cord injury? whatever it is that inspires us, inspiration is the key force behind what drives my spirit "I guess you could say"
Using many different forms of inspiration enables me to be able to switch between them when I find one form isn't getting the job done. By having many forms I am able to apply them to a wide range of situations, projects, school, and pretty much everything else.
I think one of my biggest tools in the old "inspiration toolbox" is music. Music always triggers an emotional response (which I have found to be a very powerful one), which I have been able to use to get my motivational levels charged up. After igniting my inspirations with music I usually follow up with projected results of the project, task, or what ever I'm using my inspiration for.
My wife and children are another huge inspiration motivator. Most everything I do usually has some kind of affect on my family, so a lot of my inspiration comes from them.
The point I'm trying to make is that using many different methods of inspiration will help you stay motivated when you find one method is not working. Being able to apply different methods to different situations can be important, because not all methods work for the same things.
To be able to apply yourself with passion and determination requires a source of inspiration and motivation. Try the different forms of inspiration and find what works for you. We are constantly changing and evolving our lifestyles living with a spinal cord injuries so we must change and build on our different methods of inspiration and motivation.
Here's to finding that source of inspiration!

Did you know? there was evidence found on an Egyptian manuscript of spinal cord injury and treatment dating back to approximately 1700 B.C. however the condition was considered "an ailment not to be treated"
A Greek physician named Hippocrates used various forms of traction that were developed and used a century later in treating spinal cord injuries, unfortunately spinal injuries resulting a paralysis were considered not treatable and the individual was destined to die. Hindu and Chinese also used similar methods of traction and manipulation that are still used today.
The concept of the central nervous system was introduced by a Roman physician who exclaimed the spinal cord is an extension of the brain
Surgery to remove bone fragments that were considered to cause a paralysis was introduced in 17 A.D. but it was a detail the middle of the 19th century that a standard for treating spinal cord injuries was established.
